Today’s been more of a struggle than most Mondays for me. We just got back from a fun and relaxing Valentine’s Day getaway in the Great Smokies. Tristan and I headed to Pigeon Forge, TN on Friday night and stayed at Berry Springs Lodge Bed & Breakfast. We stayed in a cabin with a fireplace, indoor jacuzzi, and amazing views. It was so quiet and peaceful. There were chocolate covered strawberries, a cheese plate, and s’mores kit in the room when we arrived. Thanks to the best hubby ever for planning that!
On Saturday we enjoyed breakfast at the lodge and then headed to Gatlinburg. We walked around and explored, grabbed a few gifts, and had lunch. From there, we went by our wedding venue and checked out some of the cabins we’re staying in that weekend. We’re SO excited for the whole wedding weekend. The cabins are awesome and there are so many fun activities nearby, including horseback riding, zip-lining, fly-fishing, and hiking. We did a moonshine tasting at Old Forge Distillery (so fun!) Then we had dinner at The Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge.
Sunday morning we spontaneously decided to head to Cherokee to spend some time at Harrah’s casino. We got there by driving 45 minutes through Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was such a beautiful, sunny day and the most amazing drive. Along the way, we stopped to enjoy the creeks, waterfalls, and views. We had a lot of fun at Harrah’s and didn’t make it back to Charlotte until 8:30 Sunday night. We scooped our doggies from my parents on the way back. Although it was the perfect trip, it’s nice to be home and back with my babies.
