Happy Monday! Hope your week is off to a great start! I had the most relaxing weekend after our Miami trip the week before. I wanted to share all about our Valentine’s Getaway to Miami Beach so enjoy!
We arrived at 8:30pm on Friday night & checked into the Nautilus Arlo Hotel in South Beach. It was a nice hotel but the service wasn’t the best & the elevators were so slow & kept getting stuck (we were on the 6th floor). After checking in, we went across the street to Cleo for a late dinner & drinks. The kebobs (steak, salmon, chicken) & feta dip were great.
Saturday:
Saturday morning we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Cabana Club, where they offer a buffet or menu options. It was so overcast that day, kind of chilly (in the 60s), & windy so we walked on the beach a little then headed to Nikki Beach for lunch. I love the vibes there – good music, good food, & every Saturday is “Rosé Saturdays” with rosé specials. For dinner that night we went to Juvia. We’ve been there twice before but this time wasn’t a great experience. It was cold & windy & they sat us by the edge (it’s a rooftop). The food took forever & was cold & mediocre. After dinner we walked around Lincoln Road Mall & back to the hotel.
Sunday:
On Sunday, we had breakfast at the Cabana Club again. It was a warmer, sunny day, but extremely windy (20-25 mph). We had made a boat reservation through Get My Boat so we met the captain at the marina at 11am. The captain drove us out to a sandbar & we spent a few hours parked in the sun. After the boat, we went to Time Out Market in South Beach. We loved the one in Lisbon so we were excited to check the Miami one out. It’s much smaller but we had some good pho & Cuban ice cream. That night, we went to SuViche for dinner – it was OK, not great.
Monday:
We went to Bacon Bitch for breakfast on our last day… it was really good, especially the Nutella stuffed French toast. It was hot that day but still windy with on & off rain showers. We grabbed Citi bikes & rode around for a while which was fun. Our first stop on the bikes was at Dreamer’s Acai for smoothies.. it’s a super cute, “insta-worthy” place, but they charge you nearly $4 just to sit inside. After a quick smoothie, we dropped the bikes off & took an Uber over to the Wynwood Arts District. It was our first time checking out the Wynwood Walls, which were pretty cool. The neighborhood itself is so colorful & fun to explore. We headed back to South Beach & had lunch at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. I’d been there once before & it didn’t disappoint either time. The deviled eggs are so good, as well as the chicken & waffles.
